Media, Democrats a dangerous duo

The cable channels are relying on Democrats to cook up smear campaigns to attack political enemies so they can drum up ratings, a very dangerous, unethical alliance.

They won’t let up on the proliferation of propaganda, bumping up the impeachment hearing’s live transmission time to eleven-and-a-half hours on Tuesday.

They cut into our regularly scheduled programming to force us into watching deep state TV, serving hours and hours of impeachment gruel and feel-good soundbites to rally the Democrats’ deranged base.

Did the hearings drag on into the night to drum up ratings for them while preempting other more exciting programming on stations like Fox News Channel? Blasting the Democrats’ TV show trial all day and night does not give accusations against President Donald Trump more credibility.

Cable networks are becoming more like state-run TV, propping up one party. Every time Democrats launch a smear campaign, stations immediately fall in line to provide wall-to-wall coverage, complete with round tables of Democratic Party operatives and mouthpieces, formerly known as journalists. The news is no longer based on independent facts. There is only room for one point of view. It must be molded to fit the narratives and ideological agendas of the Democratic Party.

A lead prosecutor from former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, Andrew Weissman, has outed himself as part of the cabal that was operating in the shadows to destroy the president. Formerly known as Mueller’s “pit bull,” he is now an NBC News legal analyst, offering advice to House lawmakers for their impeachment proceedings. This highlights the chilling reality of what our media have become.

Democrats claim Trump threatened to withhold military aid from the Ukrainian government on a July 25th phone call if they did not investigate former vice president Joe Biden, their 2020 candidate, and his son Hunter.

Yet another day of hearings kicked off Wednesday featuring testimony from U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland. He bolsters Democrats’ allegations that Trump engineered a diplomatic back-channel with Ukraine, using his private attorney Rudy Giuliani, in order to push the country’s new president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to probe Biden.

Democrats came up dry searching for a crime to get Trump after the Mueller investigation was unable to pinpoint one. They are now resorting to criminalizing the powers of the presidency. Federal law gives presidents broad discretion to withhold foreign aid.

Democrats are seeking to nullify exculpatory call transcripts using witnesses like Sonderland and Former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker, who testified on Tuesday. They both changed their original testimonies that exonerated the president in order to conform to Democratic Party talking points.

Their rationale for impeachment is not what Trump actually said on the phone call, only the feelings of diplomats about what they think Trump should not have said.

Democrats believe loud, strident expressions of grave concern for Trump’s foreign policy decisions can camouflage their baseless case. Maybe the strategy is to bore us into submission, droning on and on about Ukraine…quid pro quo… bribery…cover-up, until we all fall in line.

With impeachment all they have to do is convince the public there is no need for a crime because it is a political process. There is no need for due process as long as you can make your accusations sound ominous with words like ‘back channel,’ and ‘plot.’

“This is just an attempted takedown of the Republican Party by the Do Nothing Democrats. It will never work. #2020,” Trump tweeted Wednesday.

New poll numbers show a 10-point drop in the percentage of independent voters who completely oppose the impeachment process. More independents oppose the proceedings against Trump than support them.

A Morning Consult-Politico poll released Tuesday said 47% of independents oppose the inquiry, while only 40% of independents support it. The poll represents a 10% drop in support among independents. Overall, opposition increased to 45%, while support for impeachment dropped from 50% to 48%. The decrease in support follows the start of the second week of hearings.

A new Rasmussen daily Presidential Tracking Poll released Wednesday also shows that 48% of likely voters approve of the president’s job performance while 51% disapprove, some of the best polling numbers Trump has ever scored.

The impeachment hearings amount to yet another televised smear campaign, like reheated leftovers of the Russia hoax. It is no different from previously hyped, ratings-driven TV spectacles, like the Robert Mueller testimony and the hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Wouldn’t it be poetic justice if Democrats end up sabotaging themselves?
