Democrats celebrate ‘Weekend at Mueller’s’

Democrats are still dancing lovingly with the Mueller report and its truly a sad spectacle.  It is becoming like the old movie Weekend at Bernie’s when a group of employees party with the corpse of a deceased boss.

The 448-page report details the conclusion of a probe by former special counsel Robert Mueller into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and allegations of obstruction by the president. The former prosecutor could not find sufficient evidence to charge the president with a crime.

To date Democrats have wined and dined the Mueller report with congressional hearings, subpoenas to answer questions about the findings, an upcoming cartoon book,  a commercial and numerous plays around the country.

A live reading of the report, a one-night-only event, took place at New York’s Riverside Church. The Investigation: A Search For the Truth in Ten Acts featured Hollywood heavyweights such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mark Hamill, John Lithgow and Alyssa Milano.

They still believe Americans need to see and hear more about it because we just haven’t gotten it yet. Maybe they think we are just too slow or don’t read. It just has not been dumbed down enough.

This would explain why their calls for President Donald Trump’s impeachment are being ignored by more than half the country. The economy continues to boom and people are going about their lives despite the fact that a dictator is in the White House.

IDW Publishing announced details of an upcoming cartoon book which is scheduled to be released in 2020. Eisner Award-winning New Yorker cartoonist Shannon Wheeler and  journalist Steve Duin are the geniuses behind this brilliant idea.

“Fight the spin spewing forth from both parties and political pulpits and check out this graphic novel that brings a 400-page legal document down to size,” they say.

“Wheeler and Duin, in graphic form, bring to life scenes detailed in the report: from the infamous Trump Tower Meeting of 2016 to Trump exclaiming “I’m f*cked” upon finding out he was the subject of investigation. It’s in the report and it’s in the graphic novel!”

Hopefully the many Congressional member who ‘fessed up to Politico on Tuesday that they haven’t read the full report will grab copies. They include Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Rep. David Price (D-N.C.). Distaste for the voluminous report seems to be bipartisan.

The pièce de résistance will be when Mueller appears for two-hour back-to-back public hearings with the House Judiciary Committee and Intelligence Committee. They are hoping for a media-driven spectacle that will finally bring the report to life.

Its such a shame that Trump’s enemies are not getting enough bang for the buck after the country bore the estimated $35 million cost of the lengthy investigation. They are watching in dismay while the window for a possible impeachment closes as we hurtle toward elections in 2020. Mueller’s testimony may be the magic potion that will do the trick.
