The meltdown over the clemency of 67-year-old Roger Stone in Deep State quarters and the Democratic swamp around the country is akin to a volcanic eruption.
President Donald Trump unleashed one of the weapons in his vast war chest of presidential powers on Friday after signing an Executive Grant of Clemency commuting Stone’s 40-month sentence, sending political firebombs through the gutters of Washington. In a matter of days his longtime friend and political consultant was scheduled to report to prison.
He was found guilty by a jury last year on seven felony counts of impeding congressional and FBI investigations into ties between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia. The charges were brought by former special counsel Robert Mueller who led the probe that found zero evidence to support the cooked-up conspiracy theories, yet Stone was sentenced to more than three years in prison for petty process crimes.
“In addition to charging Mr. Stone with alleged crimes arising solely from their own improper investigation, the Mueller prosecutors also took pains to make a public and shameful spectacle of his arrest,” said a White House statement. “Mr. Stone is a 67-year-old man, with numerous medical conditions, who had never been convicted of another crime. But rather than allow him to surrender himself, they used dozens of FBI agents with automatic weapons and tactical equipment, armored vehicles, and an amphibious unit to execute a pre-dawn raid of his home, where he was with his wife of many years.
“Notably, CNN cameras were present to broadcast these events live to the world, even though they swore they were not notified — it was just a coincidence that they were there together with the FBI early in the morning,” said the moving statement, prepared by White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Democrats and their allies quickly moved to diminish the Stone commutation by mangling the veteran political operative’s celebratory statement Friday to accuse him of suggesting he could have turned on Trump. In other words, Stone was granted clemency as a cover-up to buy his silence because he has dirt on the president.
“President Trump’s decision to commute the sentence of top campaign advisor Roger Stone, who could directly implicate him in criminal misconduct, is an act of staggering corruption,” said California Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a statement.
She followed up with an empty threat that Congress will take action to “prevent this type of brazen wrongdoing” but the president has broad constitutional power to grant pardons and clemencies. She is just one of an army of left-wing actors who have abused their positions of power in government, law enforcement and the judiciary to sustain a multi-year witch hunt to look for any and everything that could be criminal to ensnare Trump and his associates.
Sputtering slimeball MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace ruminated with her fellow Russia truther Rachel Maddow on Friday night. “You pull the fire alarm. Who’s coming? There’s nobody coming,” she wailed.
Former Lead Mueller prosecutor Andrew Weissmann even implied in a Friday tweet that federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York should put Stone in front of a grand jury to testify because Stone has no Fifth Amendment right to assert anymore.
“Time to put Roger Stone in the grand jury to find out what he knows about Trump but would not tell. Commutation can’t stop that,” he tweeted.
In fact, a defendant who has gone to trial and is appealing the outcome retains his rights under the Fifth Amendment and Weissmann, whom the swamp swore was impartial, should know that.
You will never hear this pit of snakes calling for the heads of Deep State plotters who cooked up the fake accusations to frame the president and his campaign associates, claims which triggered the criminal probe that targeted Trump World.
The real perpetrators of malfeasance like former Trump rival Hillary Clinton, Democratic National Committee insiders, CIA and FBI officials who fueled the baseless criminal investigations and were caught in untoward acts are still free. The DNC, through their law firm, commissioned and paid for the dossier of proven lies, written by former British spy Christopher Steele, which dragged Trump and his associates into this sick, prosecutorial Roman Colosseum.
The public is still awaiting the outcome of investigations on everyone who lied and abused their power to facilitate the start of the Russia probe. They are still free until today without any criminal liability or harsh legal consequences for their actions.
Psychotic haters are now fantasizing that Trump criminal probes will continue in perpetuity and Roger Stone will be re-interviewed and charged with multiple new crimes. The depth and virulence of the swamp should terrify all Americans who still believe in an equitable justice system.
